SAPIENTIA POTENTIA EST (KNOWLEDGE IS POWER)

You may be wondering why the name of my website is "SuhCheop." In Korean, the word Soo-Cheop (수첩) means diary or notebook, a place where many thoughts and ideas go so that they are not forgotten. Considering people call me Suh (sue), I thought a pun would fit the style of the website, along with my occasional "funky" attitude.

Welcome to my notebook! Or rather, I should say welcome to my mind. Whether you are a close friend I had the privilege of getting to know throughout my short life so far or a random stranger visiting, due to some Google algorithm or a referral from a friend, you are always welcome here. I recommend you make yourself at home and relax as you read through what is on my mind, the stories that come out of my chaotic brain, and many more. I hope you enjoy and please feel free to react as you wish to any of my stuff here.

A brief introduction about me: I am South Korean by nationality, but I spent my childhood in Vienna, Austria, as I was born and raised there. I lived 18 years in Vienna before moving to Boston, MA, to attend my undergraduate institution at Tufts University. Following graduation from Tufts, I moved briefly to Bologna, Italy, to take part in my first year in the two-year MA program at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. At the writing of this blurb, I am now in Washington, DC, completing my MA studies and hoping to go on to a PhD program to accomplish my aspiration of becoming an academic, hence the title: In the mind of an aspiring academic...
